ABOVE ALL THINGS (from
"Phil Keaggy") I have taken you in my arms,
I prefer you to my life itself,
For I love you, I love you.
And my most ardent dream is
To spend my days in such a way
To be near you, to be near you.
And this present life is nothing,
Without knowing that we're loving,
I am here to live for you,
Yes here to live with you.
For I love you.
I have taken you in my heart,
I prefer you to all else
Because I love you.
And together we in prayer
Beseech the blessing
We will share, I love you.
I place your love above all things,
Nothing would be more bitter to me
Than to be of a different mind than you,
Than to be of a different mind.
I place your love above all things,
Nothing would be more painful to me
Than to be of a different heart than you,
Than to be of a different heart.
I love you.
And this present life is nothing,
Without knowing that we're loving,
I am here to live for you, here to live with you.
For I love you. I love you.
I place your love above all things,
Nothing would be more bitter to me
Than to be of a different mind than you,
Than to be of a different mind.
I place your love above all things,
Nothing would be more painful to me
Than to be of a different heart than you,
Than to be of a different heart.

ABRAHAM (from "Love Broke Thru")
Look at the stars, Abraham
And believe I Am.
Can you count stars, Abraham
Or the grains of sand?
I see why the tide keeps rolling
I see why the tide keeps rolling in
And building up the Sand Tree.
You've loved your wife, Abraham
But there is no son.
Yet from your life, Abraham,
The Seed shall come.
I see why the tide keeps rolling
I see why the tide keeps rolling in
And building up the Sand Tree.
Give Me your son, Abraham,
And believe I can.
Supply the Lamb, Abraham,
For the sin of man.
I see why the tide keeps rolling
I see why the tide keeps rolling in
And building up the Sand Tree.

AIN'T GOT NO (from "Sunday's Child")
Ain't got no fine Italian suit,
Ain't got no pocket full of loot,
Ain't got no box at the Met,
Ain't got no private jet.
But I'll tell you what, what I've got,
I got love down to the bone,
I've got love solid as stone,
I've got love that's leading me home,
Love is gonna see me through.
Ain't got no foreign sports car,
Ain't got no beluga caviar,
Ain't got no big yacht at the beach,
Ain't got no date with Robin Leach.
But I'll tell you what, what I've got,
I got love down to the bone,
I've got love solid as stone,
I've got love that's leading me home,
Love is gonna see me through.
This world of the rich and famous,
That's alright for what it is,
But what it's not is the good life
That you can only have when you're His.
But I'll tell you what, what I've got,
I got love down to the bone,
I've got love solid as stone,
I've got love that's leading me home,
Love is gonna see me through.

ALL OUR WISHES (from "Blue")
All our wishes can't be wrong,
All these dreams between us two.
There's a yearning in our song,
Wishing, believing that dreams come true.
She carries their own,
Waits for the day they bring her home.
This child, baby in arms,
He hears her say something's gone wrong.
All our wishes can't be wrong,
All these dreams between us two.
There are others who know the song,
Who know the meaning of its tune.
He kneels by her side,
Places his hand where there was life.
This child, baby is gone,
She hears him say we'll carry on.
All our wishes can't be wrong,
All these dreams between us two.
We are not the only ones.
Yet for now it's me and you,
Yet for now it's me and you.

ALL THERE IS TO KNOW (from "Crimson &
Blue")
With every halting step I take
I hang by a thread that will not break.
God loves the wayward child
He longs to be reconciled
To those on the other side of grace.
If we all hunger for the truth,
And if we share these common roots.
In Adam we had our start,
And through him we drift apart,
But there can be a change upon the face.
There is a light that shines in darkness,
There is a lamp that lights the way,
May you find comfort in its glow,
May you know all there is to know,
May you find warmth within its rays.
This is a re-occurring dream.
History's re-occurring theme,
Prisoners of human pride,
An unlikely place to hide
Wondering who will light the way.
There is a light that shines in darkness,
There is a lamp that lights the way,
May you find comfort in its glow,
May you know all there is to know,
May you find warmth within its rays.

AND ON THAT DAY (from "True Believer")
In a little corner of the world lived a maiden,
Pure at heart, good in deed,
Full of grace, gentle rose.
An angelic salutation, holy word, annunciation.
She's to be the chosen mother of Jesus, our Lord.
And as she listened to the voice
With her gaze upon the splendor
Love embraced her open heart and
She conceived the holy Lord.
Behold the handmaid, behold the servant,
Be it done unto me according to Your word.
And on that day was put in motion
The means of our redemption.
And the way was opened up
As a highway to our God.
And a child was born to us,
And to us a Son was given,
For through the young and blessed Mary
Came the greatest gift of all.
In a little time there would be a celebration.
Elizabeth would bear a son,
They will call his name John.
He will go before the Lord
As a faithful messenger,
He'll prepare the way for the Lamb who's to come.
And on that day was put in motion
The means of our redemption.
And the way was opened up
As a highway to our God.
And a child was born to us,
And to us a Son was given,
For through the young and blessed Mary
Came the greatest gift of all.
Holy, holy, holy Redeemer,
Holy, holy is the Lord.
Blessed is He who comes to free us,
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.
And on that day was put in motion
The means of our redemption.
And the way was opened up
As a highway to our God.
And a child was born to us,
And to us a Son was given,
For through the young and blessed Mary
Came the greatest gift of all.

ANOTHER TRY (from "Emerging")
How have You been? Lovely to see You,
My how the years slipped by.
Won't You come in, Feel free to be You,
Give me another try.
Because I'm empty, I'm lonely,
I need You only to fill my need inside.
I give You the keys, so do as You please,
Please give me another try.
I can recall the place where I left You,
You gave me no reply.
Your eyes said it all, but I'd become deaf to
Your tears as I waved goodbye.
But now I'm empty, I'm lonely,
I need You only to fill my need inside.
I give You the keys, so do as You please,
Please give me another try.
I've changed my heart now,
I'm willing to go Your way.
And I couldn't part now,
With You for a single day.
For I have missed You, and when I missed You,
I really missed You so.
If You will have me, I'll be Your's gladly,
But don't ever let me go.
I've been waiting for so long to get right with You.

THE ANSWER (from "Glass Harp: Synergy" )
The search for happiness and purpose in life
Is more intense than ever.
I've searched, you've searched,
We've run in the night, and still felt untogether.
In word and song I sing along,
A song to be sung with you.
I've found the way, and now today,
You can find it too.
The answer - You don't need to be alone anymore.
The answer is Jesus - believe me He'll open the door.
And with this feeling of love in my heart,
My Lord is with me always.
Although I know that this is a start,
There are no more dark hallways.
In praise and cheer, we're gathered here,
With many or with few.
I saw the light and now tonight
You can see it too.
The answer - You don't need to be alone anymore.
The answer is Jesus - believe me He'll open the door.
The answer - You don't need to be alone anymore.
The answer is Jesus - believe me He'll open the door.
He'll open the door, He'll open the door.

Arise, shine for your light has come,
Arise, shine for your light has come.
And the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you,

Arise, shine for your light has come
Arise, shine for your light has come.
And the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you,
And the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For darkness has covered the earth,
And darkness has covered the people.
But the Lord will rise upon you,
For the Lord has risen upon you,
And you shall wear His Glory,
And you shall bear His Light.
Arise, shine for your light has come,
Arise, shine for your light has come.

ARROW (from "Back Room Trax 3")
My love is an arrow in a straight line,
I know your name but do you know mine?
Listen to me, I come quickly.
My word is a hammer, it'll shatter lies.
My life it was given, open up your eyes.
Listen to me, I come quickly.
My love is an arrow in straight line.
I aim to win, will you be born again?
My heart breaks in two when you ignore me,
My heart breaks for you to come before me.
Oh come to me.
Will you come in, will you be born again?
My love is an arrow in a straight line,
My aim is to see your life shine,
This road is an arrow in a straight line.
And your aim is to make it on time.
My love is an arrow in a straight line,
My aim is to see your life shine,
My love is an arrow in a straight line,
So come on let me see your light shine.
Shine, shine, shine, shine, shine.

BABY BLUE (from "Blue")
Guess I got what I deserved,
Kept you waiting there too long my love.
All that time without a word,
Didn't know you'd think that I'd forget,
Or I'd regret the special love I had for you,
My Baby Blue.
All the days became so long,
Did you really think I'd do you wrong.
Dixie, when I let you go,
Thought you'd realize that I would know,
That I would show the special love I have for you,
My Baby Blue.
What can I do, what can I say,
Except I want you by my side.
How can I show you, show me a way,
Don't you know the times I've tried.
Guess that's all I have to say,
Except the feeling just grows stronger every day.
So, just one thing before I go,
Take good care, baby, let me know.
Let it grow, the special love you have for me,
My Dixie, dear.

BALLAD OF ROMONA'S ROSE (from "Uncle
Duke")
For our darling baby of yesteryears
That's strange, he thought, as he mowed the lawn
Of his newly acquired home at the break of dawn
There's only one rose in this briar patch
That once was a garden of color and thatch
How could that single beauty still stand
Without any nourishment from this desert sand?
He paused for a moment to take a good look
At this magnificent rose only seen in a book
Its stunning beauty took his breath away
Reflecting the sun with the colors so gay
The stock stood rigid with a vivid green
Spiderous leaves with a glorious sheen
To protect the rose, he dug deep with his hands
Around the stalky base to loosen the sands
Digging revealed a large misshapen stone
Much too strange to be left all alone
His movements slowed and his brow became furrowed
With excitement rising the deeper he burrowed
Moving his shadow to obtain more light
The sun rays revealed a tombstone in sight
He had to know what the tombstone knew
So he quickened his pace and dug in with his shoe
Carefully, now, don't disturb the rose
Because somehow the flower was part of the prose
With one huge effort he lifted the stone
Wondering why he was there all alone
The headpiece seemed to be very very old
The engraving was weathered but still very bold
"For our darling baby," the first line read
What a beautiful way to speak of the dead
(Born January 26, 1906 - Died December 20, 1907)
"For our darling baby" of yesteryears
(Romona Keaggy Passed On to Heaven)
Born in full grace, now languishing in tears
Just two years of life in the Zuni mountains
In a logging camp of white pine and fountains
The marble headstone had one corner missing
But it must be returned to its place
With a pail of spring water and careful cleaning
He restored the stone to a pristine gleaming
The stone seemed to speak in a quiet way
Please find me a home, let me rest some day
He guarded the marker to be safe and secluded
Started searching the archives for some trace that eluded
To the history of such a beautiful child
That somehow perished in the mountainous wild
As the search continued he became somewhat fanatic
Hiding the marble in his littered attic
Conversing at length with his cherished stone
Promising Romona she would never be alone
A search of the archives finally revealed
Romona was buried in a Martineztown field
City of Albuquerque, New Mexico state
Where the Morning Journal reported the date
The stone had been stolen in years gone by
But later showed up in someone's yard on the sly
And there it rested for a decade or so
Forgotten and lonely, seasonally covered with snow
Cemetary records had been burned in a fire
So returning the old stone began to look dire
We must find Romona, we cannot lose hope
Turn to the church, or maybe turn to the Pope
With some desperation he looked up and prayed
"Please, Dear God, help find where she was laid
Help me find Romona and give us all peace
She must have her marker for this heartache to cease."
With the help of the Lord and many friends
He located records drawing close to the end
Of a journey to the sweet child's burial plot
In Santa Barbara Cemetary on an unkept lot
Romona, our child, had some peace at last
No longer a spirit that had lost its past
And the rose grew larger, and was in full bloom
When he held that service on a Sunday afternoon
With some desperation he looked up and prayed
"Please, Dear God, help find where she was laid
Help me find Romona and give us all peace
She must have her marker for this heartache to cease."
May you rest now dear.
May you rest now here.

BE IN MY HEART (from "Find Me In These
Fields")
What did I ever do for You that You should die for me?
And what did I ever give to You that You should live in me?
Now and forever and always true, His love has found a way.
As I was, I am, and always will be, will be
Be in my heart, be in my head,
Be in my soul tonight.
Live in my words, let it be said,
Live in my life tonight.
Pray that I never take in vain the Name I hold most dear.
His love is the very heart of me, cast out all doubt and fear.
Now and forever and always true,
His love has found a way.
As I was, I am, and always will be, will be
Be in my heart, be in my head,
Be in my soul tonight.
Live in my words, let it be said,
Live in my life tonight.
Tonight we shall sweetly sleep,
Tonight, by still waters deep,
Tonight, for my soul to keep,
Still waters, still waters, still waters.
Now and forever and always true,
His love has found a way.
As I was, I am, and always will be, will be
Be in my heart, be in my head,
Be in my soul tonight.
Live in my words, let it be said,
Live in my life tonight.

BE IN TIME (from "Way Back Home")
Life at best is very brief,
Like the falling of a leaf,
Like the binding of a sheath,
Be in time.
Fleeting days are telling fast,
That the die will soon be cast,
And the fatal line be passed,
Be in time.
Fairest flowers soon decay,
Youth and beauty pass away,
Oh, you have not long to stay,
Be in time.
While God's spirit bids you come,
Sinners do not longer roam
Lest you seal your hopeless doom (original line)
Lest you lose your way back home (new line)
Be in time, won't you be in time.
Lord I want to live for you,
Give all I can give for you,
Help me, Jesus, to make
The most of my time.
Fleeting days are telling fast,
That the die will soon be cast,
And the fatal line be passed,
Be in time.
Lord, help me be in time.

BENEATH THE BLOOD STAINED LINTIL (from "Phil Keaggy")
Beneath the blood stained lintil I with my children stand.
A messenger of evil Is passing through the land.
There is no other refuge from the destroyer's face.
Beneath the blood stained lintil shall be our hiding place.
The Lamb of God has suffered our sins and griefs He bore,
By faith the blood is sprinkled above our dwelling's door.
The foe who seeks to enter doth fear that sacred sign,
Tonight the blood stained lintil shall shelter me and mine.
Beneath the blood stained lintil I with my children stand.
A messenger of evil Is passing through the land.
There is no other refuge from the destroyer's face.
Beneath the blood stained lintil shall be our hiding place.

BE THOU MY VISION (from "True Believer")
Be Thou my vision, oh Lord of my heart
Nought be all else to me, saved that Thou art.
Thou my best thought in the day and the night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my wisdom, be Thou my true Word,
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord.
Thou my great Father and I Thy true Son,
Thou in me dwelling and I with Thee one.
Be Thou my breastplate, my sword for the fight,
Be Thou my armor and be Thou my might.
Thou my soul shelter, and Thou my high tower,
Raise Thou me heavenwards, oh power of my power.
Riches I need not, nor man's empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance all of my days.
Thou and thou only though first in my heart,
High King of heaven my treasure thou art.
Oh High King of heaven, when battle is done,
Grant heaven's joy to me, bright heaven's sun.
Christ of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, Thou ruler of all.

BEYOND THE SCREEN (from "Backroom Trax 4")
Beyond the screen is a child,
And beyond the pain is a smile.
If there is someone to care,
Someone who would share His love
Oh, what a change that could take place in us.
There is One who has sent
All His love with His Son.
Freely He has given all,
He has heard every call, every prayer,
Oh, if we only could see how He cares.
All the starving children,
The lonely people lost in despair
He has called us to give
And not only live for ourselves.
All the starving children,
The lonely people lost in despair
He has called us to give
And not only live for ourselves.
Beyond the screen is a child,
And beyond the pain is a smile.

BIG ERASER (from "Sunday's Child")
Everyone's rewriting history,
Let history speak for itself.
When history repeats itself
Better listen up cause it don't lie.
Everyone is seeing history
As redesigned through their own eyes.
And in the end all of these trends
Will be revealed by the author of history.
History, reciting history,
Forbidden fruit upon their breath.
Don't you know the taste is sweet
But it's got a bitter end
A painful cavity, the consequence.
Take back your big eraser.
Your magic truth replacer.
Hands off those retouched photos.
I don't think we will need those.

Blessed are the poor in spirit; they shall receive the Kingdom.
Blessed are they that mourn; relief shall come their way.
Blessed are the meek ones; all the earth shall be theirs.
Blessed are the hungry for righteousness; they shall be filled.

Blessed are the pure in heart; they shall see God.

BLESSED BE THE TIES (from "Sunday's Child")
Out of the single life into the family way,
So many scripted lines, so many roles to play.
Ever a pressure pressing, ever an undertow.
Why do the ties you've chosen slowly pull you low?
Over the things we love into the still unknown.
I had a dream last night I was finally left alone.
Nothing to tie me down, no one to kiss goodnight,
Never again to feel your whisper pullme to your side.
And oh, an emotion cries.
Oh, sing blessed be the ties.
Under the veil he walks through the relentless chill,
Ever to bear your grief, ever rejected still.
Out of the deep He pulls you into the arms you trust,
Nothing can separate us from the ties that bind to You.
And oh, as your spirits rise,
Oh, sing blessed be the ties.
Stay with me, never let go
Take me to your side, am I dreaming
Oh, an emotion cries,
Oh, sing blessed be the ties,
Blessed be the ties.

THE BOOK (unreleased demo)
Living off the land was not what I had planned,
So I took off for the city.
Then a man, not an ordinary man,
Sat down beside me and he said
I said Mister, I'm going for broke until I stop,
I said Mister, you know I've got to reach the top,
I said Mister, can you help me if you can,
He just gave me a book and disappeared, disappeared.
When I looked inside, there was love before my eyes,
When I looked inside, oh to my surprise,
And it spoke to me, oh it spoke to me.
When I looked inside, there was love before my eyes,
When I looked inside, oh to my surprise,
And it spoke to me, yes it spoke to me.
Come on, come on and take a new look,
Take a look into the book.
Words so real, words so true
Give you something to hold on to,
So come on, yeah come on discover the book.
Romance and mystery, heroes and history,
Action and victory, shine on me.
Take a tour of Heaven above,
Show you so much love so come on,
Come on discover the book.
So come on, come on discover the book.
So come on, come on discover the book.

BREAKING AWAY (from "Backroom Trax 2")
You had me bound in your passions,
Surrendered to your selfish will.
You led me to believe that you loved me,
Only to be hurt again.
And now I'm free, no longer entangled,
No longer hung up on your lines.
Cause now I see the mask you are wearing.
No more for your lies I'll be blind.
Breaking away, I'm breaking away,
Breaking away, I'm breaking away.
Deep down in me, I need to be needed
Desire to believe in someone true,
But time showed me expectations too many
At least I expected something more of you.
Breaking away, breaking away, breaking away...
You promised me that we could discover
A place where we really belong.
But misery ain't my kind of company,
You had the last word but now I'm gone.
Breaking away, I'm breaking away,
Breaking away, I'm breaking away.
Breaking away, I'm breaking away,
Breaking away, I'm breaking away.

CALLING YOU (from "Find Me In These
Fields")
Inside, peering through my mind's eye
Looking to another time where time ceases to be.
I cried, no one hears but You alone,
Listening to this monotone for the missing part of me.
And I'm calling You in unspoken words
I'm calling You, I struggle for words in a whisper.
Outside, a beggar's plight through a window pane
No shelter from this pouring rain to be there by your side.
I've tried to do it on my own again,
And so I stand here alone again with nothing left to hide.
And I'm calling You in unspoken words
I'm calling You, I falter for words
And I'm calling You in unspoken words
I'm calling You, I'm searching for words
Hear me whisper as I breathe out Your name,
Break the chains free and rekindle this flame,
Come and hold me.
And I'm calling You in unspoken words
I'm calling You, I struggle for words in a whisper

CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE (unreleased
demo)
I planned my life, followed my dreams,
I decided that love was not for me.
Some would try to change my mind,
I'd look in their eyes and turn and walk away.
And I can't help falling in love with you,
Can't help falling in love.
Love has tried to win my heart,
Feelings died before they had a chance to start.
A sudden turn, my balance lost,
There wasn't time to even count the cost.
But I can't help falling in love with you,
No I can't help falling in love.
No I can't help falling in love with you.
No I can't help falling in love.
The rain that falls from the sky
Finds it's way with no questions why
And I can't help falling in love.
But I can't help falling in love with you,
No I can't help falling in love.
I can't help falling in love with you.
No I can't help falling in love with you.
I can't help falling in love with you.

CAN YOU SEE ME (from "Glass Harp")
Can you see me brother,
Walking down the lonely road?
Can you see me sister,
Help me find where I must go.
Look for the signs in the stars,
To help us find what must be ours.
For those behind the lonely bars,
We'll help to see.
Can you see me brother,
Here I stand I'm all alone,
Can you see me sister,
I hear the cries among my own.
There are too many people
Saying what it's all about.
Should be praying to find
Themselves and not an out.
For I know that it's hard to see
All the things we ought to be,
Many things we cannot see are there.
The Son died for you and me,
That we may live eternally,
Through Him there is a peace we can share.
Yes, we can share.
For I know that it's hard to see
All the things we ought to be,
Many things we cannot see are there.
The Son died for you and me,
That we may live eternally,
Through Him there is a peace we can share.

CAREFREE (from "Play Thru Me")
A great sunny day, jump in the pick-up
And we'll go to the park, don't delay.
I know just the place, under the willow tree
The kids they all run and they play for so long,
They get you singing their song,
It's a bright and joyful melody,
Just kick off your blues, join in, be carefree.
Don't you know that everything is gonna be alright,
And haven't you heard the Father never lets you
Out of His sight, no no no no.
A great sunny day, love to be living
And I know there's just no better way to be in the race,
Than giving up everything I know
That hindered my pace for so long,
You got me singing your song,
There's a bright and joyful melody,
Just put on my shoes, join in, be carefree.
Don't you know that everything is gonna be alright,
And haven't you heard the Father never lets you
Out of His sight, no no no no.
But He gives you room to grow,
And He wants to let you know
That He really cares about you and me.
So be free, go and run your race, don't be late,
Go and fight the good fight of faith,
And just like a child be carefree.

C ARRY ME BACK (from "Inseparable")
Carry me, carry me back to the One I love
Ahh
Carry me, carry me back to the One I love.
Carry me, carry me back to the One I love.
Carry me, carry me back to the One I love
Ahh, ahh.
I listen and carefully watch just for You
In all that I think and say and do.
Each moment I search for a right point of view.
The still small voice within me makes me yearn for You.
As days are filled with worry and care,
Where am I when of You I'm not aware
Of your sweet and perpetual love,
Perpetual love... perpetual love?
Ever forgiving
ever.
Carry me, carry me back to the One I love.
I need you to carry me, carry me back to the One I love.
And dance to the dance; the greatest romance.
And I understand, I understand, I understand.
I listen and carefully watch just for You,
In all that I say and do.
Carry me. Carry me. Carry me. Carry
me.

CARRY ON (from "Find Me In These Fields")
You may feel like throwing the towel in,
You may feel like giving up.
You may feel like turning and running,
Don't look back, cause things will start looking up.
Carry on though the wind is strong,
Carry on in the face of lies.
The accused have a lasting song,
For the Lord will hear their cries.
They may call you a coward, a fake,
They may call you cruel and dishonest,
They may point a finger, that's all you can take,
Don't give up, His grace is upon us.
Carry on though the wind is strong,
Carry on in the face of lies.
The accused have a lasting song,
For the Lord will hear their cries.
I want to tell you now.
Carry on though the wind is strong,
Carry on in the face of lies.
The accused have a lasting song,
For the Lord will hear their cries.

CHALICE (from "Inseparable")
The way to find our selves is in the fires of our sorrow
Do we look around, expect to see the wind?
Could we prevent the trials that we face with each tomorrow?
Can't we see this is the world were living in?
When suffering restores us, burns away the empty shallowness
And softening the heart,
To be broken bread and poured out wine.
When it rains it pours, turns a life into a chalice;
There to nourish every soul one at a time.
We do wrong should we refuse to listen to the Master
Who went on before that we walk in His steps?
Before too long we run away...and running even faster,
We fail to see the promise that He kept.
And suffering restores us; burns away the empty shallowness
And softening the heart
To be broken bread and poured out wine...
When it rains it pours; turns a life into a chalice;
There to nourish every soul one at a time.
To love is to be broken, but to love nothing and no one,
We must close our own selves up, shut all the doors
And let no one in.
Locked within ourselves where it's safe and dark and motionless
Where love will cease to be
And all the while the air is wearing thin
chalice
When suffering restores us, burns away the empty
shallowness,
And softening the heart, to be broken bread and poured out wine...
When it rains it pours; turns a life into a chalice
There to nourish every soul...
One at a time.

CHASE THE BAD AWAY (from "Phil
Keaggy")
Merry go round but not so merry
Very much like a hurricane.
Instead of looking up you turn your head away,
Far away, far away and so ashamed.
So tasteless, odorless, a waste of your time
Consumed with, no strength left, a world so unkind.
But you can talk to me, yes you can talk to me.
I'll chase the bad away.
Embracing the cold with your outstretched fingers
Eyes and heart resisting me.
It's growing in your veins, you've slipped into a maze,
Back and forth, back and forth so endlessly.
So tasteless, odorless, a waste of your time
Consumed with, no strength left, a world so unkind.
But you can talk to me, yes you can talk to me.
I'll chase the bad away.
Give it up to me, give it all to me.

CHERISH THE MOMENT (from "Play Thru Me")
Look out there to my right, a mighty river flowing,
Way beyond mountain peaks a sun is ever showing.
Standing trees, evergreen, appear and stately planted,
We may not pass this way again, so take nothing for granted.
Sitting here to my right, a friend closer than brother,
Native of the land I see, loyal as no other.
Friendship is as one gives, the other one receptive,
We may not pass this way again, though we may be reflective.
Cherish the moment, perish the thought
I can do as I intend.
We may have never been this way before,
We may never pass this way again.
Wherever you may be, up high or way down under,
There's a voice that gently speaks, not found in wind or thunder.
At the door stands the Lord, a waiting invitation.
He may not pass this way again, this day of your salvation.
Cherish the moment, perish the thought
I can do as I intend.
We may have never been this way before,
We may never pass this way again.

A CHILD IN EVERYONE'S HEART (from "Ph'Lip
Side")
Just a little boy in the town, town, town
Just a little boy with a frown, frown, frown.
In the afternoons he goes down, down, down
To the lonely room near the lost and found department.
There's a little boy in every man's heart
Crying out, trying out.
As he rushes in to hear the band start,
So alone in the crowd, in the crowd.
Just a little girl on her daddy's knee,
Just remember when she was one, two, three.
In a little while she'll want to be free,
And your little girl will be seventeen tomorrow.
There's a little girl in every daddy's heart,
Dreaming eyes, scheming eyes.
When she sings for you remember your part,
Listen up when she cries, when she sighs.
There's a little child in everyone's heart,
Needing love, needing love.
There's a little child in everyone's heart,
Needing love, needing love.

CHILDREN (from "Backroom Trax 5")
Children how I love you, yes indeed it's true,
Children how I want to be a part of you.
From the first a blessing, each and every face,
Children how I love, let me count the ways.
More from the moment I rise,
Into the day through the night,
Always aware of you, this is my prayer for you
My children may you know God,
The Father and the Son,
Know the Holy Spirit,
Know the Three as One.
Listen to this story, yes indeed it's true
For the King of Glory came to Earth for you.
He laid aside His splendor and humbly took His place,
For He was born among and we beheld His face.
Jesus, God's gift to you.
Oh Jesus, He lives in you.
More from the moment you rise,
Into the day through the night,
Always aware of you, this is my prayer for you
My children may you know God,
The Father and the Son,
Know the Holy Spirit,
Know the Three as One.
Children how we love you, yes indeed it's true,
Children how we want to be a part of you.
With Jesus, God's gift to you.
Oh Jesus, He lives in you.

CONNIE'S SONG (from "Uncle Duke")
Now I'm getting older and time is short
So on my past I'll make a report
As I start to write it's just getting dark
Which takes me back to Conneaut Lake Park
The month was August, the night was cool
I says to myself, "Davey let's play pool"
I struts in this pool hall and spies this Mabel
Racking the balls on my empty table
Now I pride myself on handling a stick
And this dark-haired babe could tell I was slick
She saunters up and she leans on my arm
And says, "Hey big boy, you've got plenty of charm"
"I know" I say, but don't let it throw you
'Cause you're a city girl and I don't even know you
She gives me the blinkers and a pat on the cheek
"Max, you're the man I'm out to seek"
So to change the subject, I chalk up my cue
And get ready to break as most pool sharks do
Before I can break she throws down a wad
"Break 'em and run 'em, and take it, by God"
So I broke 'em and ran 'em and picked up the bills
She stood there and shivered like she had the chills
I gave her the money and said with a wink
"Dry up your blinkers, let's go have a drink"
She shakes my hand and says, "Thank you, no
"You're really kind, and I do need the dough"
The tears were running down her face
Dropping so softly on her collar of lace
Well, she looks up and gives me a sad little smile
"Maybe I'll see you once in a while"
And strange as it seems as I write among tears
We've been married to each other over fifty years

CHILDREN'S FANTASY (from "Glass Harp")
There she stands, her eyes to the sky,
I see a girl sent by the breeze.
She is wearing a blue-yellow satin
And looks as though she's easy to please.
Now I want so much to meet her,
I should before the time slips away.
Her name I'd ask while I would greet her,
And say it's such a beautiful day.
We can climb a dirty mountain,
And still our hands be clean.
Running underneath a rainbow,
A children's fantasy.
We walked along, our hearts full of gladness,
We talked about the much younger days.
The happy times, and then there was sadness
And times we're bored and then be amazed.
We climbed the dirty mountain, yeah,
Running underneath a rainbow,
A children's fantasy
A children's fantasy
A children's fantasy

CONTEMPLATE THE MOON (from "Inseparable")
It shines not with a light of it's own,
Yet casts a glow to earth.
Voices from generations past,
Have sung about it's worth.
Contemplate the moon...
Contemplate the moon...
It's helped to guide the ships at sea
And swooned with lovers new;
It takes the tide from beneath, from
Beneath your feet,
And it brings it back
back to you.
Yes... Contemplate the moon...
Contemplate the moon.
On deep dark nights when it is full,
Moon glow... moon glow...
The only light....
Or on the nights when storm clouds try,
They try to keep it from your sight... from your sight.
Contemplate the moon...
Contemplate the moon...
Think about the mighty Hand
That sets its course to be,
A gentle glowing night light
There to comfort you and me
Contemplate the Moon
Contemplate the Moon.

COVENANT LOVE (unreleased demo)
So true to each other,
So true to the One who they love.
So true to their Lord who has given them
Life and joy and peace, deep peace within.
And although they're mistreated,
They continue to hold on in faith.
And they pray for the ones who display
Such cruelty towards them
Time and again, without end.
Covenant love, such a love that He pours out
Within the hearts of His children.
Covenant love, in faithfulness
Unto death their lives are joined as one, as one.
Models of the Master,
Living letters they are read by all men.
They are salt in the Earth, they are light in a
Dark world of sin, bearing good news of Him.
Children don't lose heart,
Your new life He renews day by day.
Keep your eyes on Eternity,
For the things that are seen fade away,
Fade away, fade away
Covenant love, such a love that He pours out
Within the hearts of His children.
Covenant love, in faithfulness
Unto death their lives are joined as one, as one.

COVER UP (unreleased demo)
Lately coming round tellin it's no secret,
Gotta say it now if you can.
I give you all my time,
And then you're halfway speechless,
Very certain I understand.
No more cover ups indecent,
Or you'll be losing ground, slipping down.
Once upon a time in a big, fast city,
Livin off the fat of the land,
That's where you lost your destiny
Of what you were supposed to see
Do you recall the purity,
Or have you lost your memory?
Cover up - no more cover ups indecent,
You've been losing ground,
Falling all apart to pieces,
You've been slipping down.
Lately coming round tellin it's no secret,
Gotta say it now if you can.
I give you all my time,
And then you're halfway speechless,
But very certain I understand.
Just where you lost your destiny
Of what you were supposed to see
Do you recall the purity,
Or have you lost your memory?
Cover up - No more cover ups indecent,
You've been losing ground, slipping down.
